Lothian & Borders Police are working with Dunbar Cycling Group to find new homes for bikes that would previously have been auctioned at Police Sales. These bikes will be made available to nominated young people who will contract to attend a specified number of sessions supported by Community Policing Officers.
East Lothian Council’s Department of Community Learning and Development also promoting this project which offers opportunities to;
• involve young people in volunteering,
• develop and sustain a community facility,
• increase levels of physical activity,
• engage with environmental issues,
• provide a new social hub for young people.
